Case Number:ZON2004-00030 Case Status:Finaled Date Received:5/10/2004
Description:Replace an existing water resevoir with a new 312,000 gallon reservoir. The new structure will be 30-feet in diameter and approximately 60-feet tall. The proposed replacement resevoir will be located in the south central area of the park, and will be sited adjacent to the existing reservoir, which will be abondoned. The applicant is required to obtain a conditional use permit for a major utility. In addition, the proposal exceeds the 35-foot height limitation imposed by the Jefferson County Unified Development Code (UDC). The applicant is also requesting a variance to deviate from the 35-foot height requirement. The impetus for constructing a 60-foot high reservoir is to provide adequate flow for fire suppression. The proposal has already been reviewed for compliance with the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA). A FINAL Determination of Non-Significance was issued on March 9, 2004, with Washington State Parks acting as the lead agency. The proposal is required to undergo a Type III public hearing.
