Description:Two small net pens are to be installed at each location between February 10, 2001 and
April 30 for the purpose of rearing summer chum fry as part of a stock restoration/reintroduction
project. Net pens will be attached to existing docks for the duration of two months.
1) The proposal is consistent with the Exemptions Section 3.402(1), or the Jefferson County
Shoreline Management Master Program.
2) The net pens will be installed at two locations: the Discovery Bay Yacht and Racquet Club, and
the Kala Point Community Beach. The pens will be attached to existing docks.
3) On January 29, 2001, The Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife issued a Determination of
Nonsignificance in accordance with WAC 197-11-340.
4) A Hydraulic Project Approval was issued January 24, 2001 under Log Number 00-C8796-01 & 00E7828-01.
5) The net pens will be placed in the water and utilized for the duration of 30-45 days.
